Military Educational Partnerships

Air Force

Upper Iowa University recognizes the work completed in the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) and currently has an articulation agreement established to award credit based CCAF courses.

Army

Upper Iowa University is a member institution in ArmyIgnitEd, the virtual gateway for soldiers on active duty to request Tuition Assistance (TA) online anytime for classroom and distance learning college courses. As a member institution, there are no up-front, out-of-pocket expenses for the soldier when enrolling in Upper Iowa University classes as long as his/her TA allowance has not been exceeded. 

Army National Guard

Upper Iowa has also established an educational partnership with the Army National Guard Support Center. Our staff evaluates Joint Service Transcripts respectively and builds a personalized college degree plan by consolidating earned credit from military training, college level testing programs, independent study courses and other college courses. All Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science majors offered through UIU are part of the degree plan assessments that are available at the support center. 

Coast Guard

Upper Iowa has also established an educational partnership with the Coast Guard Institute. Our staff evaluates Joint Service Transcripts respectively and builds a personalized college degree plan by consolidating earned credit from military training, college level testing programs, independent study courses and other college courses. All Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science majors offered through UIU are part of the degree plan assessments available at the institute center. 

Marine Corps

Upper Iowa University also evaluates training received in the U.S. Marine Corps as posted on the Joint Service Transcript and builds a personalized college degree plan by consolidating earned credit from military training, college level testing programs and various other correspondence and training courses. 

Upper Iowa University is proud to work with the Sailors to maximize transfer credits based on their Navy Ratings. Please follow the link below to view degree options based on Navy ratings. Two Associate of Arts and 16 majors at the Bachelor of Science level are offered.  

 

UIU has two distance learning options tailored to fit the dynamic lifestyle of today’s Navy personnel and their families. The Rating Related Program page will show you how your rating credit will transfer to a degree at Upper Iowa University.  

Transfer Credits for Military Services

Our articulation agreement means you can easily see how your credits through Military: Army & Navy (ACE credits) match up at Upper Iowa University. You can transfer up to 78 credits from ACE credits to get started on your UIU degree.
