Fayette Appreciation Day (FAD) is the university’s largest annual day of service, engaging approximately 80% of the campus community, including students, faculty, and staff. Organized in partnership with the student-led service organization Peacocks for Progress, the event collaborates with local leaders and residents to identify and address meaningful community needs.

Each year, volunteers complete more than 30 service projects throughout Fayette County. Projects range from river and environmental clean-up efforts to home improvement projects, nonprofit support, and community beautification initiatives. Collectively, participants contribute more than 1,800 hours of service annually, strengthening partnerships and enhancing quality of life across northeast Iowa.
