Our booth at the Iowa State Fair has become a beloved Peacock tradition! It’s an incredible opportunity for the University to connect with potential students—and even change lives. Each year, two lucky students win FREE TUITION for the Fayette Campus! Plus, every day of the fair, we draw 11 more winners who receive a free class.

Fairgoers can also browse Peacock gear and gifts, and we always love catching up with our amazing alumni. In fact, nearly 1,000 alumni stop by our booth each year! If you’re visiting the fair this summer, be sure to stop by—we’ll have a special free gift just for you. See you there!

Did you know that each year, nearly 1,000 Upper Iowa University alumni stop by our booth at the Iowa State Fair?  If you’re headed to the Fair on Wednesday, August 19, swing by our “Peacock Hangout” gathering from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and spend some time with your Upper Iowa Family!

All are welcome! Alumni Association Board President, Ron Bergfeld ’77 and fellow Peacock, Lisa Chensvold ’14, will meet you at the Snack Bar inside the 4-H Exhibits Building. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Calling all fraternity brothers! All are invited back to Fayette Campus to reunite, reconnect and more of all – remiss!

Guests may attend a special reunion dinner taking place at Big Rock Country Club in Fayette. Hospitality hour begins at 6 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Larry Smith ’76 is spearheading this fun gathering and he has been in touch with all BUSH members directly, please reach out to him with questions regarding this reunion dinner.

Homecoming Weekend will be happening at the same time so tons of fun events and activities will be happening for all to enjoy!

Upper Iowa University is proud to serve as the official host of the 2027 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Wrestling fans from across the country will gather for an exciting weekend of competition, and you’re invited to be part of it.

Join us for a Peacock Social on Friday, March 12, 2027, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Complex, the championship’s main venue. Hosted by UIU Athletics and the Alumni Office, this fan-friendly gathering will feature complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

All UIU wrestling supporters, alumni, parents, students, and Hall of Famers (and guests!) are welcome. Save the date now, and stay tuned for additional details as the event approaches.

All are invited to attend the Annual Honors & Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 10, 2027, in the Student Center Ballroom, on the Fayette Campus.

The banquet is a meaningful celebration of the academic distinction and scholarly accomplishment of our UIU students. It also provides an opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the generous donors and scholarship supporters whose commitment makes this program possible each year.
