CHEM 151 General Chemistry I

This course introduces students to fundamental concepts in chemistry by taking an atoms first
approach. Atomic structure is introduced early and is used as the basis for discussion of periodic
trends of the elements, compounds and bonding, molecular structure and geometry, intermolecular
forces, and chemical reactions. Laboratory projects emphasize application of scientific methodology
and experimental design.
