The Student Philanthropy Council (SPC) at Upper Iowa University (UIU) is spreading holiday cheer with— the SPC Holiday Countdown! This year, GivingTuesday — the global day of generosity on Tuesday, December 2 — is being celebrated as part of the Holiday Countdown, making it easier than ever for Peacocks everywhere to share the spirit of giving all season long.
“This is our first-ever UIU Holiday Countdown, created to connect Peacocks everywhere in a fun and festive way,” shared Ashley Gredys, Vice President for Advancement & Alumni Engagement. “From Fayette to our centers across the country, and alumni around the world, this is a chance to celebrate our shared pride, engage in traditions old and new, and lift up our students during the season of giving. A major driver of this initiative is our Student Philanthropy Council, who has taken the lead in imagining and building this experience. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to inspiring a culture of giving at UIU has been instrumental in bringing this new tradition to life!”
Hosted by SPC, the Holiday Countdown features several weeks of digital activities designed to engage students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of UIU and officially kicks off on Tuesday, November 25! Each day brings something new — from photo challenges and contests to special videos, local business spotlights, and heartfelt opportunities to give back. Every message includes a cheerful invitation to support UIU students and programs.
