Credits at UIU
Your time and past experiences are important to us. Take advantage of UIU’s generous transfer credit policy to recognize your past educational work towards the completion of your degree. To help with the ease of transferring we have partnered with many institutions and the American Council of Education to recognize and apply your credits to your future UIU degree. You can generally transfer credit to UIU for accredited college-level courses completed with a C- grade or better.

Transfer credit from Previous College
Want to take advantage of your previously earned credit? UIU makes transferring easy, allowing you to finish your degree quicker. We partner with many community and technical colleges for your seamless transition to UIU.
Credit for Military and Civilian Training
We know how hard you’ve worked to get where you are today. Use your prior experience through military service or academy training to accelerate your degree completion.
Credit by Examination
Earn credit through exam services such as CLEP, DSST, ACT-PEP examinations or others.

Take advantage of UIU’s portfolio process to determine your achievements and demonstrate learning outcomes.
Fulfill your General Education Requirements
UIU will accept AA or AS degrees with a liberal arts core as fulfillment of the general education requirements toward a bachelor’s degree. Prerequisites are not waived.
