UIU makes it possible to explore the world through study abroad experiences of different lengths and formats. From immersive semester-long Education Abroad programs, to 7–10-day Faculty-Led Study Abroad trips, students can choose the experience that best fits their academic goals and schedule.

Education Abroad

UIU’s Education Abroad opportunities give students the chance to spend a semester studying in another country for an immersive international experience. Students can explore available programs based on their academic goals, interests and preferred destinations, with advising to help identify options that are a good fit.

Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs

UIU’s Faculty-Led Study Abroad programs are 7–10-day trips for academic credit that are open to current students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University. Led by UIU faculty, these experiences combine international travel with coursework in areas such as Education, Communication and Culture. Depending on the course, credits may apply toward major, minor, General Education or elective requirements.

Trip Description

Experience Prague’s rich history, culture, and architecture while exploring landmarks such as Old Town, Prague Castle, and the Charles Bridge. Students will also have opportunities to experience Czech cuisine, local culture, and the atmosphere of one of Europe’s most distinctive cities.

Trip Description

Explore Greece’s blend of ancient history, Mediterranean culture, and natural beauty, including Athens and the iconic Acropolis. The experience will also highlight Greek cuisine, local communities, scenic landscapes, and the country’s cultural traditions.

  • Meeting vaccination or health requirements
  • Completing required UIU forms
