About The Peacock Professional Experience (General Education) Program
Upper Iowa University has redesigned its general education program (The Peacock Professional Experience) to align course requirements with the academic skills and professional competencies a student needs for the future.
Based on National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) core competencies that represent employer-desired skills and prepare students to be career-ready, The Peacock Professional Experience provides students with knowledge and professional skills that support their academic journey at UIU and beyond as productive members of the global society. Students will take classes in:
- Professional Writing Communication
- Professional Oral Communication
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Applied Critical Thinking (Quantitative Reasoning, etc.)
