PH 420 Public Health Studies II: Demographics, Geo-Spatial Mapping, and Qualitative Research
This course provides students with a variety of tools for understanding the impact that disease or other Public Health concerns may have on a population. Students will learn how to design effective surveys, analyze geographic data, and use qualitative information with the ultimate goal of gaining a better understanding of how events may affect the health of a particular population. This course will also require students to participate in map development in order to help them build understanding of how geographic data is used in the practice of Public Health. This course is offered online through a consortium of accredited colleges and universities. Instruction is provided by faculty employed by partner institutions within the consortium, with technology and administrative support provided by Rize Education. Oversight of courses offered through the consortium are reviewed and approved by Upper Iowa University. Students register through Upper Iowa University and receive academic credit from Upper Iowa University. Rize courses may not be taken for electives.
