PH 330 Health Economics

Credits: 3

The field of public health is driven by economics as much as it is by epidemiology.  This course will teach you about health economics, which is the application of economic principles and techniques of analysis to health care in support of the public good.  By the end of this course you will learn how to analyze the effectiveness of health policy outcomes through an economic lens, and how to use available resources to improve the quality of healthcare.  This course is offered online through a consortium of accredited colleges and universities.  Instruction is provided by faculty employed by partner institutions within the consortium, with technology and administrative support provided by Rize Education.  Oversight of courses offered through the consortium are reviewed and approved by Upper Iowa University.  Students register through Upper Iowa University and receive academic credit from Upper Iowa University.  Rize courses may not be taken for electives.
