PH 110 History of Public Health
Covid-19 has thrust Public Health into the spotlight, but the domain of public health includes many critical issues, including mental health, obesity, and gun violence. From the first quarantines to the modern movement towards universal health care, public health has fundamentally shaped societies. In this course, you’ll learn the role of the state in public health, the importance of public health, and how it’s provided and practices. This course is offered online through a consortium of accredited colleges and universities. Instruction is provided by faculty employed by partner institutions within the consortium, with technology and administrative support provided by Rize Education. Oversight of courses offered through the consortium are reviewed and approved by Upper Iowa University. Students register through Upper Iowa University and receive academic credit from Upper Iowa University. Rize courses may not be taken for electives.
