Prairie du Chien Center opens at 12:30 p.m. Waterloo Center opens at 11 a.m.
Outdoor Pursuits is UIU’s outdoor recreation program. Every semester there are a variety of outdoor activities and trips organized and offered to all UIU students at zero expense to a very small fee. The trips are a great opportunity to get out and see what there is to do in the area and to spend time with or make new friends. All skill levels are invited to participate. Instruction and lessons will be provided as needed.
Same hours as the UIU Recreation Center
All participants must sign a waiver and medical release form before engaging in any activities offered by Outdoor Pursuits. The costs of these activities vary, depending on the duration and type of activity. Transportation is provided. Sign-up is on a first come first served basis.
The Outdoor Pursuits program also provides a variety of outdoor recreation equipment that is available to rent at no charge to UIU students. To checkout or return equipment stop by the front desk of the UIU recreation center during open hours.
Items available for rent include: Tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, rollerblades, skateboards, longboards, grills, coolers, backpacks, canoes, kayaks, life jackets, paddles, wet suits, dry bags, throw bags, car carriers, bikes, helmets, locks, sleds, ice skates, frisbees, lawn games, fishing supplies, and more!
Bike rentals must be returned by the end of the day in order to preserve the quality of the bicycles. There is no limit to the number of times a bike can be checked out so if needed for another day it can be checked out again the next morning. All equipment rentals other than a bike must be returned within 2 business days. On the due date the equipment can be renewed if there is an interest in checking it out for a longer time period. There is a late fee of $10 per day, for up to 3 days, if an item is not returned on the due date. After 3 days a charge will be assessed for the full value of the equipment. A cleaning charge of $5/hour will be charged if equipment if returned dirty.
Enjoy walking or biking one of Fayette's multi-use trails.
