Upper Iowa University (UIU) is thrilled to announce its eighth annual Giving Day event, “Battle of the Generations,” set to take place Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25, 2024. Since the inception of Giving Day in 2017, the UIU community has generously contributed $750,000 as part of this University-wide fundraising event. Its annual impact advances the unwavering commitment to enhancing the educational journey of its students. During the online challenge, all alumni, faculty, staff, current and future students, and friends of UIU are invited to participate and support the University.

The “Battle of the Generations” will determine which generation will make the most impact on Giving Day. Generations include: The Silent Generation (those born 1928-1945), Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964), Generation X (born 1965-1980), Millennials (1981-1996), and Gen Z (born 1997-2012). The lighthearted yet competitive yet event will track both the number of donors and total dollars. The winning generation will receive special recognition at the Homecoming Alumni House Tailgate Party on October 12, 2024.

“This event has become a UIU tradition. It embodies and celebrates the collective spirit and generosity of the UIU community,” said UIU President Kathy Franken. “As we gather to support the diverse needs of our University, we’re reminded of the profound impact that giving back has on our students and the University as a whole.”
