TO: Faculty and Staff
SUBJECT: President’s Communication – NSIC Schedule Change for Fall 2020 Sports

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The purpose of this email is to share news regarding Upper Iowa University Athletics.

On Monday, July 27, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Board of Directors, of which I serve as a member, voted unanimously to support a delay to the start of NSIC fall athletic competition for football, cross country, volleyball, and women’s soccer (Men’s soccer is a member of the GLIAC and an official decision is forthcoming related to start dates). This action considers the health and safety of student-athletes and the greater campus communities across the NSIC. Fall athletic practices will not begin until after the start of face-to-face classes in Fayette on Monday, August 31. All fall sports seasons will be shortened with no competition to occur prior to Saturday, September 26.

Please see the attached press release and FAQ that provides further information on this decision. More information on other sports that may be impacted outside of this decision will be included as part of the normal weekly update to faculty and staff.

Thank you and Go Peacocks!

Bill
