TO: Fayette Campus students
SUBJECT: COVID Screening

Hello Fayette Campus students,

The University is aware of some recent issues with the free daily COVID-19 self-screening tool, provided by SensorRX, that helps you screen yourself for COVID-19 symptoms and provides you with guidance based on your answers.  These issues, related to a recent app update, were found in fewer than 10% of users, as some phones tried using the older version of the self-screening tool located in their data cache.  We have been in contact with the company, and they assure us that the issue is easily resolved by following the directions below:

  • Refresh the page and try again.
  • Clear your browser cache.  The company noted that all browsers refresh their cache at least once a week.
  • Try a different browser.
  • Try a different device.  Most people who have had issues accessing the app on their phone were able to successfully access it on another device, such as a computer.
  • If you continue to have any issues with the self-screening app, please contact the UIU Care Team.

If we are to prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 in our Fayette Campus community, we must continue to be vigilant and maintain our use of this self-screening tool, as well as the precautions prescribed by the CDC and UIU Care Plan.  Your daily screenings help the Care Team monitor the Fayette Campus student body’s overall health and take actions that preserve the Fayette Campus community as a healthier place to live and learn.  It is important that we all continue to make the screening tool a routine part of our morning—before we leave for class or any other destination—and be honest in our daily assessment.  If you are ill, please reach out to the Care Team for assistance.

Thankfully, there have been fewer cases and quarantines on campus this semester, due in part to increased testing, vaccinations, the new Winneshiek Medical Center UIU Clinic in Garbee Hall, and your continued adherence to wearing a face covering, distancing, and using good hand hygiene.  With all of the great progress we have made as a campus community against COVID-19, this is absolutely not the time to let our guard down.  We are #PeacockStrong.

Thank you,
UIU Care Team
