Upper Iowa University bookstore dedication set to celebrate new partnership with Follett
FAYETTE, Iowa (September 21, 2012) – Upper Iowa University and Follett Higher Education Group will dedicate the new bookstore operation, Peacock Connection, in the UIU Student Center at 2 p.m. Friday, September 28.
The ceremony will celebrate the partnership between the University and Follett, which is the new manager of the on-site and online bookstore, Peacock Connection, which serves the needs of nearly 6,200 UIU students worldwide. Follett assumed operations of the Peacock Connection and online textbook services for this academic year. Follett also operates the Stadium Store, offering UIU memorabilia in Harms-Eischeid Stadium.
Follett offers new, used, printed or digital textbooks as well as textbook rental. Follett has expanded rental services at UIU to include the majority of titles designated as textbooks by UIU faculty. On average, rental textbooks cost at least 50 percent less than purchased texts.
Participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be UIU President Alan G. Walker and Follett Vice President Jim O'Conner. Peacock Connection will conduct door-prize drawings throughout the day on September 28.
