Upper Iowa University received a grant from Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation & Affiliates to assist residential Campus students with emergency funding. Eligible students may receive a one-time grant for up to $1000 to help cover emergency expenses that arise.
Due to the grant guidelines, this opportunity is currently limited to Fayette students. We hope to be able to offer a similar grant opportunity for all UIU students in the future.
Each student’s situation is different. The goal of this grant is to provide financial intervention for low-income students who experience a financial emergency that if not remedied may impact their ability to continue their education.
Eligible emergency expenses may include: medical, dental, medical, dental, transportation, personal automobile expense, child care, housing/rent, utilities, and food.
Ineligible expenses include non-emergent expenses such as: tuition, fees, books, legal expenses/fines/bail, tobacco, and alcohol.
For questions, contact the UIU Emergency Funding Grant coordinator, Amy Tucker at firstname.lastname@example.org or 563-425-5264.
Eligible students who wish to apply for the Student Emergency Funding Grant should schedule a meeting with one of the grant committee members to ensure documentation is completed correctly. The application may be started in the online portal prior to this meeting.
