FAYETTE, Iowa (July 8, 2016) – A 2016 Upper Iowa University graduate earned top honors at the recent PBL (Phi Beta Lambda) National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Ga. Bradley Kuboushek, an accounting/management major from Calmar, Iowa, placed first in Cost Accounting and second in Entrepreneurship Concepts.

Kuboushek advanced to the national event after placing first in Entrepreneurship Concepts, and second in Contemporary Sports Issues and Public Speaking at the PBL State Leadership Conference in April.

“I am extremely proud of Bradley for his outstanding achievements at the national leadership conference. Although our (PBL) chapter has been presented the prestigious Lloyd V. Douglas Outstanding Chapter Award in nine of the last ten years, this is the highest individual honor a member of the chapter has ever achieved in the 16 years I have been advising the group,” said Lynn Isvik, UIU Phi Beta Lambda Chapter adviser. “The entire University should be extremely proud of Bradley and his award-winning accomplishments.”

During the National Leadership Conference, over 1,700 students from across the United States and two countries participated in business-related and leadership development workshops, elected national officers and had opportunities to expand their business networks, in addition to participating in more than 55 national competitive events.

PBL is the college division of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, the oldest and largest student business organization, devoted to students who are preparing for careers in business and business-related fields.  The organization's mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
