Upper Iowa CAP partnership to help IPA members

FAYETTE, Iowa (Friday, Aug. 21) – International Police Association (IPA) members will soon have the opportunity to reap the benefits of the Upper Iowa University Corporate Advantage Program (CAP). As CAP partners, International Police Association members, their spouses and dependent children (up to age 26) will be eligible to receive tuition discounts for courses taken at any of Upper Iowa's 25 U.S. educational centers, or through UIU online or self-paced programs. Application fees are also waived.

As the largest and oldest worldwide fraternal police organization, the IPA membership is comprised of approximately 400,000 active and retired police officers worldwide. The association, which includes approximately 10,000 U.S. members, promotes global and cultural friendship among peace officers.

"Helping adult learners achieve their educational dreams is a goal of Upper Iowa University," said UIU President William R. Duffy. "We are pleased that the International Police Association has chosen to partner with the University's Corporate Advantage Program. Upper Iowa strives to assist all students in gaining the knowledge and education they need to excel in their careers and lives, and to do so in an affordable manner."

UIU offers convenient daytime, evening, and weekend classes as well as comprehensive online and self-paced degree programs. Upper Iowa’s unique academic year consists of six 8-week terms. Students usually take one to two courses most terms and still graduate on schedule. Many students blend their degree plan by taking hybrid (both face-to-face and online) courses to accelerate completion of their degree.

Other students get a jump on completion by easily transferring in up to 90 college credits from other college. Up to 12 credits can also be transferred at the graduate level. Credits may also be earned through an individual’s work experience through an experiential learning portfolio or various college examinations.

Corporations interested in participating UIU's Corporate Advantage Program, should contact Upper Iowa University by e-mail at info@uiu.edu.
