TO: Parents of Fayette Students
SUBJECT: UIU Checking In!
Dear Parents,
We hope that this message finds you in good health and positive spirits. Here at Upper Iowa University (UIU), we look forward to, and are continuing to make preparations for, our upcoming Fall Semester. As of now, our plan is to begin at our scheduled time, though we will continue to work directly with local, state and federal public health officials to ensure that the way forward is done with safety and well-being in mind. We will monitor the virus throughout and are prepared to make adjustments as conditions dictate to support a safe and healthy learning environment. As you likely know, UIU has a long and rich history of providing exceptional education in a variety of formats, and we will continue to support your student to help them meet their educational goals.
The Office of Student Life is so appreciative of all that you have done to support your student during this unexpected transition to online learning. We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate this crisis. I find encouragement and inspiration in these words as we close out our Spring Semester: “There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow.”
Our faculty, administrators and staff miss your students dearly and can’t wait to see them this Fall Semester. We are so grateful that your student chose UIU as their place of higher learning. Thank you for being a part of the Peacock family!
Sincerely,
Jean Merkle
Dean of Students
