CARES Act Funds

  1. Upper Iowa University has signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. Upper Iowa University intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  2. Upper Iowa University has received $2,210,375 in total funds that will be distributed to students.
  3. Upper Iowa University has distributed $1,105,188 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants funds to students.
  4. Upper Iowa University estimates there are 1,634 students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
  5. 633 students have received the Emergency Financial Aid Grants funds.
  6. Upper Iowa had an application process to determine eligible students and the amounts they are able to receive. These amounts will vary by student, as the University seeks to address each student’s individual situation as stated on the application.

Minority Grant Funds

CRRSA Act Funds

  1. Upper Iowa University has signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. Upper Iowa University intends to use, no less than the amount of CARES funds disbursed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 314(a)(4) of the CRRSA Act.

  3. Upper Iowa University has distributed $1,105,188 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants funds to students.
  4. Upper Iowa University estimates there are 875 students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants under Section 314(a)(4) of the CRRSA Act.
  5. 875 students have received the Emergency Financial Aid Grants funds.
  6. Upper Iowa set its parameters for these funds to be sent to students who are enrolled in the Spring 2020-2021 semester, with a zero Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated from the FAFSA and who have an unmet need of zero. Students must have completed a FAFSA to qualify for this grant

Supplemental Minority Grant Funds
