Department of Biology and Chemistry
The Department of Biology and Chemistry includes nine faculty, two staff, and over 125 students earning majors within the department. Although faculty bring diverse backgrounds and experiences to UIU, all are united in working to help students succeed.
Upper Iowa students graduating with a major from the Biology and Chemistry Department are prepared to pursue a wide range of opportunities, including the following examples:
- Professional programs such as medical, dental, optometry, podiatry, physical therapy, chiropractic, veterinary and mortuary schools;
- Medical Laboratory Science at the Mayo Clinic;
- Graduate programs;
- Employment in conservation, fisheries and wildlife, parks and recreation;
- Employment in businesses that produce and sell medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.
