One way to enrich your experience at UIU is to join clubs. There are two academic clubs supported by the Department of Biology and Chemistry: Science and Environment Club and the Pre-professional Club.
Conducting research is a great way to enhance your résumé. There are many research programs that provide a stipend and housing for qualified students during the summer. Summer research opportunities are typically geared toward sophomores and juniors, so plan on applying in the winter (Dec-Feb) of one of those years for research experiences the following summer.
