Student Government Association
Student Government Association (SGA) works hard to ensure the needs of the students are met. SGA also works to bring activities and programming to the students. Past events include Welcome Back Pinic, Backyard BBQ, Midnight Breakfast, and campus Run. All meetings are held at 12:15 p.m. in the Ballroom in the Student Center unless noted.
With big changes throughout UIU, the SGA team has been evolving a great deal as well over the past few years. UIU is currently going through its largest capital improvement plan ever, investing $75 million in improving the life of students, faculty and staff. As UIU grows in population, the need to voice the students opinion has never been greater. To do this, during the 2009-2010 academic year, we added a new position to the SGA team. This was the Academic Extension Officer who will be working on addressing the needs of the students at all the satellite and academic extension campuses. This addition will play a vital role in voicing all the students opinion with only a small portion of the students being on the Fayette campus.
