Nationally regarded distance learning programs

At UIU, you may attend class anytime during the day that fits your schedule.  Programs offered through our Center for Distance Education welcome students from around the world and do not require on-site residency.

Independent Study Program: Modeled after traditional correspondence learning, it is a paper/email based program specifically designed to make learning as flexible as possible. Using texts, study guides, and other course materials, you learn by completing specific assignments.  Assignments are submitted to the instructors by email, postal mail, or fax.  You may enroll in a course at any time and take up to six-months to complete the course.                 

Online Program: For those who prefer interaction with other students, the Online Degree Program enables completion of courses in a virtual classroom environment. You can log on to your course at any time and engage in discussions with the faculty member and your classmates.  With six, eight-week terms each year, it’s easier than ever to earn your degree.

Starbucks employees receive a discount on the current tuition rate at UIU.

Receive UIU college credit for your Starbucks training

Your Starbucks professional training is eligible for college credit. You will receive up to 18 semester credits toward a degree from UIU for your professional learning experiences from Starbucks (click here for more information).  There is no charge for awarding credit for your Starbucks professional training.
