"Upper Iowa's financial management major provided me with a solid base of general business acumen along with more specific financial coursework that directly ties into the corporate workplace. The selection of business electives provides the framework to lead students into and be successful in, the upper level finance classes. Current, up-to-date, real world case studies helped me to gain knowledge outside the basic realm of financial statements, accounting, ratios, etc. The professors were understanding and always showed an 'open-door' policy for questions and concerns outside of class. To this day, I maintain relationships with a number of professors."
Class of 2009
Financial Management Major
Credit Union Examiner for the Iowa Division of Credit Unions
The School of Business at Upper Iowa University is committed to the idea that all aspects of business are interrelated. As a result of this commitment students are required to take a broad background of courses in Management, Marketing, Accounting and Management Information Systems. With this background in place, Financial Management students develop extensive understanding of the financial system, financial investments and corporate finance. The ultimate goal of this process is to leave the graduating student prepared for a broad range of finance positions, from banking to insurance or investment advising to the corporate world.
