1. What is my lan id?
Full-time faculty and staff are provided with LAN (Local Area Network) accounts that allow them access to campus computer workstations and email. All computers on all UIU campuses present you with a 2 line logon box requesting a User ID, a Password.
Your User ID is created using your last name and first initial of your first name, up to a total of 12 letters.
Ex: Pete Peacock = peacockp
If your name is similar to that of another UIU faculty or staff member, your User ID might be created by using your last name and the first two letters of your first name up to a total of 12 letters. If your first and last names are similar to those of another faculty or staff member, your User ID might be created with a numbering system.
Ex: Pete Peacock = peacockp ; Paul Peacock = peacockpa ; Paula Peacock = peacockpa1
If your first attempts at logging on are not successful, consult the IT Help Center at: 563-425-5876 or email us at helpdesk@uiu.edu

Turn the computer and monitor on. The computer should boot to the "Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to unlock this computer" screen.
