Open House at UIU Des Moines Center
Des Moines, IA (September 8, 2008)-An open house will be held Tuesday, September 23, at the Des Moines Center of Upper Iowa University. Hours are 3 to 6 pm, and no appointments are needed. Students of all ages are encouraged to attend.
"One of the many benefits of our center is its numerous opportunities," said center director Karin Dunn. "We can address the needs of first-time college students as well those who have taken a break from their studies. And our flexible programs work with just about every schedule."
The $50 application fee will be waived for students applying during the open house. Students will also have opportunities to meet with academic advisors, tour the facility, and get answers to financial aid questions. There will also be door prizes and light refreshments.
"We've planned an event that's both fun and informative," Dunn said. "Some people are intimidated at the prospect of starting-or returning-to college. We're here to ease that anxiety and show students how easy the process can be."
