UIU Waterloo center to host local political candidates
Waterloo, Iowa (October 23, 2006) — Upper Iowa University Waterloo center is offering their facilities to host several local political candidates before the November elections. The candidates are invited to speak about their individual platforms, to be followed by a question and answer period. All sessions are open to students and the general public.
In an effort to maintain complete impartiality, Stephan Kaftan, UIU instructor of public administration and criminal justice sent open invites to all state and local candidates. The following candidates are confirmed for these dates: Libertarian candidate Kevin Litton on Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. and Green Party candidate Wendy Barth on Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
The office of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chet Culver has tentatively confirmed, although no date has been set.
