Public meeting on recreational use of Volga River
FAYETTE, Iowa (January 30, 2009) - A public meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 4 from 4-5:30 p.m. to gather input, share ideas, and identify stakeholders in recreational use of the Volga River in Fayette County. The meeting will be held on the Upper Iowa University campus in Fayette in Baker-Hebron 101 Auditorium. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.UIU student Jenni Determan is undertaking a senior project to develop a plan for signage and improvements along the Volga River, to encourage recreational use of the river. The City of Fayette and the Volga River Recreation Area are partners in this effort. Funding will be requested through the Iowa DNR Water Trails program.
