UIU alumna State Senator Mary Lundby funeral today
All business in the Iowa Legislature has been cancelled today in honor of State Sen. Mary Lundby's funeral today.
Mary Lundby was elected to a seat in the Iowa House in 1986 and was the first woman to be speaker pro tempore.
In 1994, she was elected to the Senate and the first woman to lead her party in the Senate.
Mary Lundby held a degree in political science and history from Upper Iowa University.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion.
