4th annual ASB fundraiser on Feb. 8
Chili, cinnamon rolls, and UIU wrestling
FAYETTE, Iowa (January 28, 2009) - Last year, Upper Iowa students who signed up for Alternative Spring Break (ASB) set up their chili supper and cinnamon rolls fundraiser in the Dorman Gymnasium lobby prior to the wrestling meet. It turned out to be such a success that the students have decided to do it again.
This is the sixth year for ASB at Upper Iowa, whereby students sign up to spend their spring break in a positive way. The nationwide program allows UIU students to work alongside other college students building homes for Habitat for Humanity; the group will travel to Charleston, SC in March.
The Chili Supper/Cinnamon Roll fundraiser will help defray travel expenses. It will take place Sunday, Feb. 8 from Noon-2:00 p.m. in the lobby of Dorman Gym. The UIU wrestling team will face Northern State; UIU is ranked second in the NSIC/North Region rankings.
The meal tickets cost $5 each and can be purchased at the door. The menu includes chili, homemade cinnamon roll, celery and carrot sticks, and a drink. Gavin's IGA and Sodexho are food sponsors for this event.
Please note the fundraiser meal is optional and separate from admission to the wrestling meet.
