Exceptional play earns Iredale NSIC Player of the Week
FAYETTE, Iowa (January 4, 2008) -- Upper Iowa University (UIU) junior Britney Iredale from Riverside, Calif. has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's (NSIC) Player of the Week. This is the fourteenth time this year a UIU student-athlete has received this honor but the first for a Peacock women's basketball player in the 2007-08 season.
Iredale scored a game high 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Wisconsin Parkside game, in addition to four assists and shooting 50 percent from the field (10-20) during her 38 minutes of play. So far this season, she is averaging just under 8 points and 4 rebounds per game.
The Peacocks return to Dorman Gymnasium January 4 and 5 for their NSIC home openers. UIU will host the Wildcats of Wayne State College on Friday and the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday. The women's game tips off at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8:00.
