Three locals hired at UIU-Rockford
ROCKFORD, Illinois (December 12, 2007) - Three local individual
s have been hired to staff Upper Iowa University's new center located on 1161 Tebala Blvd. in Rockford. Classes are anticipated to begin March, 2008.
Tim Sievers is responsible for all aspects of operations. Sievers came to UIU from the Jewish Federation of Greater Rockford, where he served as executive director. Additionally, he has 19 years experience in higher education from previous jobs held at community colleges in both Iowa and Illinois. Sievers holds an M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University, an M.S. from Western Illinois University, and a B.S. from the University of Arizona
. He is also a member of the American Society for Training and Development, Rockford Roadrunners, and the Society for Human Resource Professionals and resides in Loves Park, IL.
Barbara Vandegrift is the student academic advisor. Prior to UIU, she served as program manager at Northwood University (NU) and holds a B.B.A. from NU. Vandegrift and her husband, Bruce, reside in Rockford.
Deetra Sallis is the student accounts manager, whose duties include financial aid and administrative
responsibilities. Sallis' previous position was graduate affairs representative for St. Anthony College of Nursing. She holds a B.A. in sociology and Spanish from Augustana College in Rock Island and is also a Rockford resident.
