Both UIU soccer teams earn academic recognition
FAYETTE, Iowa (December 11, 2007) -- The Upper Iowa University (UIU) women's and men's soccer teams both received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 academic year. The honor comes after each UIU soccer team posted a collective grade point average at or above 3.0, with the women earning a 3.09 G.P.A. and the men a 3.22 G.P.A.Upper Iowa is one of 73 schools where both the women's and men's programs were recognized. Only three other Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) schools joined the Peacock women's program in earning the NSCAA Team Academic award for the 2006-07 academic year--MSU Moorhead, Northern State, and Southwest Minnesota State.
