UIU art professor calls for volunteers
Help wanted to install River Weaving in Volga River for Watermelon Days
FAYETTE, IOWA (August 13, 2007) – Upper Iowa University Art Professor John Siblik is asking for volunteers to help install his environmental work of art, River Weaving, in the Volga River to be on display during Watermelon Days, August 24-26, in Fayette.
- A free, family event. Kids of all ages are invited to help build this environmental work of art (must be accompanied by an adult).
- Installation Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Come for a couple of hours and cool off in the Volga River. Pickle on a stick will be available at noon (first come, first serve).
- Volga River in Fayette, directly west of Main St. bridge (shoes, hat, sun glasses, sun screen, and gloves are needed).
This project has received funding from The Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
