UIU-Rockford to host April open house
Fayette (April 4, 2008) - Upper Iowa University (UIU) is pleased to announce it will host an open house at the Rock Valley College Stenstrom Center at 4151 Samuelson Road, Rockford, on Wed., April 16, 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The event will feature information about UIU's B.S. in Public Administration degree.
"Our Public Administration degree program is perfect for individuals already working in either law enforcement or fire departments," said Tim Sievers, UIU Rockford Center Coordinator. "Also, the articulation agreement UIU has with Rock Valley College makes it easy for graduates of their programs to segue into ours."
Upper Iowa is currently awaiting the opening of its new educational facilities at 1161 Tebala Blvd., Rockford. Construction has been delayed due to winter weather conditions, but Sievers anticipates the opening of UIU's new 13,000-square foot building sometime in May. "Our new site will offer area students the opportunity to earn their bachelor's degree locally with the convenience of evening and weekend classes," said Sievers.
A UIU financial aid counselor and academic advisor will also be available, and all prospective students who apply during the open house will have the $50 application fee waived.
