FAYETTE, Iowa (December 12, 2011) – Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Iowa, and Black Hawk College, Bettendorf, Iowa, have signed an articulation agreement that will make it easier for Black Hawk students to transfer to Upper Iowa University to complete a bachelor's degree. The agreement specifically lays out courses that students can take during their two years at Black Hawk that will seamlessly transfer to meet degree requirements at UIU, which eliminates retaking courses and can reduce time spent to earn a degree.
Dr. William Duffy, senior vice president for Academic Extension at Upper Iowa University, and Dr. Michael Rivera, dean of instruction and student learning at Black Hawk College, signed the articulation agreement between the two schools.
"Black Hawk College is pleased to collaborate with Upper Iowa in the development of this additional path for our students," said Rivera.
"Upper Iowa University believes in successful partnerships with community colleges in order to ensure a smooth transition into UIU to complete a four-year degree," added Duffy.
