Upper Iowa University announces winners in 5K Run/Walk

FAYETTE, Iowa (April 4, 2011) — An Upper Iowa University senior was a double winner in the April 2 UIU 5K Run/Walk. Justin Marchant, senior, Oregon, Wis., turned in the fastest mile, with a time of 6:08, as well as the fastest overall time of 19:39.
Following Marchant, the four top-ranking men were Jesse Pleggenkuhle, Hawkeye (19:44); Tracy Nuss, Fayette (20:28); Trent Odell, Sumner (21:00); and Chris Dibble, Fayette (21:28).
The top five times for women in the 5K were Kortney Pleggenkuhle, Hawkeye (22:41); Brenda Bunn, Fayette (23:33); Heidi McKean, Fayette (24:19); Tiffany Mueller, St. Olaf (24:52); and Christine Dwyer, Fayette (25:59).
The top three men and women received medals. Nearly 100 turned out for Saturday’s 5K and Fun Run.
