Leadership Preparation

Courses such as Nursing Leadership and Management, Professional Communication for Nurses, and Professional Nursing Practice, provide the practical knowledge you need to become a leader in today's complex, business-oriented, healthcare environment. Your Nursing Concepts Capstone l and ll give you the ability to apply the concepts and skills acquired in the RN-BSN program. It also allows you to demonstrate growth as a competent, caring, and professional nurse.

Clinicals

Clinical experience is the heart of the nursing profession.  At Upper Iowa University, we have designed clinicals so you can meet several goals:

• Achieve course objectives                                     
• Reach your career goals
• Enable you to continue your other important activities
• Give you opportunities to practice the leadership skills you learn throughout the curriculum in practical settings

Clinical experiences are arranged cooperatively with a clinical facility and a faculty member.  This will be a project based experience where students work collaboratively with faculty, peers, and a selected clinical agency.
