Upper Iowa has classrooms located at Jackson Barracks in New Orleans and is available to both military personnel and civilians in the area. Upper Iowa offers six eight-week terms during the academic year and may give credit for your civilian and military experience. Upper Iowa has been recognized by Military Advanced Education and by GI Jobs as one of the nation’s top military-friendly universities. UIU is also a member of the Servicemembers Opportunities Colleges, a Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership institution, and teams with both the Coast Guard Institute and Army National Guard Education Support Center. UIU has articulation agreements with Nunez and Delgado Community Colleges in New Orleans to assist transfer students, and partners with the Fraternal Order of Police and the Louisiana State Troopers Association to provide quality education to law enforcement officers.
