Quality Learning
Academics come first at college -- so we created a two-at-a-time course schedule that helps students concentrate and get more out of your classes. Our one-on-one faculty relationships allow for the individual attention students deserve.
With an enrollment of more than 820 students on its Residential Campus, Upper Iowa is the perfect size to create a micro-version of the national and world communities, thus, you will experience cultural diversity.
"As a parent of a high school senior, I would recommend Upper Iowa because of small classrooms. As a non-traditional student, I recommend UIU because of the ease in commuting daily, two on two terms and the wide variety of class offerings for a small price." - Lisa Chensvold
"I found a tremendous amount of support here at Upper Iowa, whether it be from staff or fellow peers." -Christina Monthisane

"It is noticeable that students show a good degree of interest for sports. At the same time, I have noticed that the sports coaches show concern for the students’ academic activities. Each term students bring written notes from their coaches to be signed by their academic instructors to guarantee that they are not doing sports at the expense of their academic failure."
- Prof. Hassan Zand, exchanged-professor from Hong Kong.
Active Lifestyle
There are many indoor and outdoor activities for students to participate in. The Recreation Center is the center of activity on the Upper Iowa campus--walking, jogging, running, stair stepping, biking, tennis, basketball, volleyball, weight training and aerobics are only some of the activities they offer. The Rec Center facilities are available for all Fayette-campus students at no charge.
One of the most popular programs at Upper Iowa is Outdoor Pursuits. Outdoor Pursuits schedules activities frequently and provides both transportation and equipment. Outdoor Pursuits also offers activity classes in canoeing, kayaking, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing.
The Office of Student Development works hard to put together a diverse schedule of events. UIU offers around 200 students events and activities throughout the year, including: wellness lectures, workshops, cultural events, dances and de-stress days.
