Upper Iowa University offers a 10 percent grant on tuition to all military personnel (active, guard, reserve, and retired), as well as their family members who are Department of Defense identification card holders. This grant also applies to veterans who are eligible for VA Educational Benefits. For servicemembers utilizing military tuition assistance benefits, the undergraduate tuition rate will not exceed the authorized credit hour rate which is currently $250 per credit hour.
The tuition grant applies to all civilian centers as well as courses taken through the online and self-paced degree programs. Grants do not apply to students on the Fayette campus.
In addition, all UIU educational centers located on military bases will offer a reduced rate on tuition (cost per credit hour).
Upper Iowa University participates in the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) program. When a military spouse is on orders for one year, MyCAA provides resources and assistance to spouses of active duty services members, Guard and Reserve.
This centralized, virtual program, accessed through Military OneSource, will provide counseling and funding, up to $6,000, to assist with licensure, certification or education opportunities leading to portable employment opportunities.
Military spouses participating in the UIU program receive a 10 percent tuition grant. Upper Iowa offers a tuition grant to all military family members who are Department of Defense identification card holders.
