Applied Plant Science
About | Courses | Faculty | Print
As an Applied Plant Science major at UIU, you will receive a real hands-on education. You will learn everything from turf grass management to production of forage, to weed science. The major is a "2+2" program where you complete your first two years in an approved program at a community college before transferring to UIU for two more years.
As an Applied Plant Science major, you can become a turf/grounds/landscape manager, landscape designer, horticulturist, wholesale/retail greenhouse caretaker, nursery manager/owner, or an industrial employee (for example, with seed companies). The degree also prepares you to enter graduate school.
