Black Student Union
Upper Iowa University’s Black Student Union (BSU) is dedicated to educating and inspiring others, by bringing together not only African American students but all students—no matter their sex, race, or religious background. The BSU is dedicated to educating the University Community about the African American heritage, as well as displaying why the African American heritage is important to society. Also, the BSU is focused on developing leaders, building a community and a family through the development of camaraderie throughout the organization, academic and emotional support, as well as social interaction.
