UIU CELEBRATES 2012 HOMECOMING. With a week packed with fun for students and a weekend dedicated to alumni, the 2012 Upper Iowa University Homecoming celebration recaptured the highlights of the past while focusing on the future. ALUMNI RECEIVE SPECIAL RECOGNITION. Eight Upper Iowa alumni were honored at the annual Alumni Banquet held September 29 during Homecoming. They were selected based on a set of five criteria. Awards were given in the following categories: Community Service, Emerging Alumni, Professional Accomplishment, Service to Country and Service to Upper Iowa University. Those honored were:
- Narthreza Putri – Class of 2004
- Benjamin Cooper – Class of 1998
- Angie (Kimball) Joseph – Class of 1982
- Leota Didier – Class of 1943
- Roger Bowen – Class of 1955
- Teri (Vanderheiden) Salmons – Class of 1976
- Dr. Jamie Bunn – Class of 1992
SEVEN PEACOCK ATHLETES INDUCTED INTO THE UIU HALL OF FAME. For their contributions on the field, in the ring and on the court – as well as out – seven Upper Iowa alumni athletes were honored at the annual Hall of Fame banquet held September 28. They include: Jackie Bridges '93 (football), Matt Cowley'00 (baseball), Jarrad Jones'00 (baseball), Marty McKowen'83 (coach), Sigmund Sanders'96 (basketball), Cliff Thompson'02 (wrestling), and Wade Whitcher'02 (baseball).
UIU OPENS HARMS-EISCHEID STADIUM. The University hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, September 8, at the newly renovated and renamed Harms-Eischeid stadium. Read more.
MILWAUKEE CENTER CELEBRATES 20 YEARS. UIU alumni are welcome to celebrate 20 years of academic success at the Upper Iowa University-Milwaukee Center Thursday, October 18. Read more.

UIU OPENS 19TH EDUCATION CENTER. Upper Iowa University is opening its 19th education center in Mesa, Arizona, this fall. The center will begin offering classes in October in a temporary location and move into a more permanent location later. Read more.
ACCREDITATION CONTINUED BY HIGHER LEARNING COMMISSION. Upper Iowa University was notified by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association that accreditation of the University has been reaffirmed through 2019. Read more.
