Upper Iowa University Andres School of Education prepares students to teach, coach and lead. Offers preparation for athletic training and sport administration.

ANDRES SCHOOL OF EDUCATION 

The Andres School of Education at Upper Iowa University offers majors that prepare teachers for the classroom, readies athletic trainers for certification, prepares students for careers related to physical activity, and trains and certifies coaches. The School also offers one graduate program, the M.Ed.; and, through a partnership with The 2 Sisters, graduate-level courses for teaching literacy and math skills, Daily 5® and Daily 3®. Programs may be offered on campus, at some of the UIU centers, or online. Check the specific program to determine availability.

Lifelong Learning

Mary Jane Kloster ’12  credits her UIU experience with teaching her to be a lifelong learner. A third grade teacher, she urges UIU graduates to "live each day continuously learning," saying "I have learned that education is not an answer or a path, but instead a way we live."

Shaping Lives

Emily Sparks ’13, an exercise and sports science major, serves as the University of Iowa women’s volleyball director of operations. She credits UIU for allowing her to excel academically and for providing her leadership roles that helped mold her into the person she is today.

Creating success

An exercise and sports science major, Craig L. Jackson Jr. ’11 recognizes “Upper Iowa University provided me a life changing opportunity. As a result, my experiences at UIU prepared me to accomplish goals that I never thought were possible.”
