Majors and Programs
When you’re a student at Upper Iowa University, you can select from a broad range of academic majors offered in a comprehensive, flexible program. Our innovative academic calendar is divided into six, eight-week terms, so you take only two courses each term. You can still complete your degree on time while being able to focus more attention on each course.
Our seamless, worldwide university is fully accredited and offers you the opportunity to
- Study on a traditional private, campus with a 14:1 student/faculty ratio (average class size, 24).
- Take your courses after work or on weekends at one of 15 educational centers (including some on U.S. military bases)
- Study internationally at our educational centers in Malaysia, Hong Kong, or Singapore
- Take advantage of convenient online courses, including online tutoring services through smartthinking.com
- Study at your own pace by taking independent study courses.
You can switch between modalities if your personal and professional needs change. Our open enrollment allows you to start your degree program during any UIU term throughout the year. And you can earn up to 30 credits for your life experience. UIU also accepts up to 90 credit hours from other college work that you have completed, as well as AP, CLEP, DSST,and Excelsior exams.
