Hope Trainor is the Director of Academic Success at Upper Iowa University. She enjoys helping students reach their academic goals. In addition to encouraging student achievement, she is responsible for assigning students an academic advisor. Hope received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Art at Loras College and is currently seeking her Master’s in Higher Education Administration at UIU. Her interests include spending time with her family and friends, scrapbooking, photography, reading, and shopping.

Vickie Houser is the Student Achievement Counselor at Upper Iowa University. As the Student Achievement Counselor, Vickie works one-on-one with students to discuss their academic progress. She can provide help to students in many areas such as time management, study skills, test anxiety, stress management and preparing for exams.
Vickie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Applied Psychology (Counseling), both from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Vickie has worked within the fields of counseling, social work, disability services, and teaching for more than 19 years. Most recently, Vickie was the Middle School Counselor at Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School in Dubuque, Iowa. During that time, Vickie also taught college courses in Psychology and Special Education.
In her free time, Vickie enjoys spending time with her three sons, Jesse, Connor and Jordan Huff, her husband, Dennis, and her step-children, Heather, Josh & Steven Houser.
