Paolo and Francesca

Wertheimer was inspired by the heartfelt love lines written by Dante Alighieri and dedicated to Francesca da Rimini. Both in print and in bronze, Alighieri's compassion is demonstrated by placing the lovers in a whirlwind where they are together forever.
